Tutorials by Steve Holmes

artbeats_tutorials Steve Holmes of Energi Design had authored a 15 episode After Effects tutorial series called Real World Footage Effects for Artbeats which had wrapped up last May.

Of course the episodes go out of their way to shine a nice light on Artbeats clips, but you’re sure to get a lot of decent After Effects how-to from a guy with a lot of know-how. Steve Holmes makes excellent tutorials and his work is, well, excellent.

iTunes has this to say: “Artbeats has recruited design expert Steve Holmes of Energi Design to bring you bi-weekly video tutorials which show you quick tips for using stock footage in your projects in innovative ways. Whether you’re a novice wanting step-by-step instruction, or a veteran just looking to expand your creative possibilities, these tips, presented in After Effects, will help bring your projects to the next level.”

Since the series has ended ArtBeats has lopped them together with their other tutorials from  Creative Cow‘s Eran Stern as well as many written tutorials from Chris & Trish Meyer and more. You have to flip a page or two before you see the Holmes tutorials.  Download ‘em, watch ‘em here.

Imagineer Systems Channel on Vimeo

Imagineer Systems Channel on VimeoThe headline says it all: Imagineer Systems, makers of Mocha for After Effects have a channel on Vimeo. No tutorials, at least not yet. Just a few samples of rotoscoping and planar tracking using their products. The “Text Animation” clip is particularly impressive, especially as it was made using Mocha for After Effects—one of their programs actually within our reach.
